My most recent interview was with Ben Kimray. He is 15 years old and lives in Charlotte, NC. His sponsors are Chocolate Skateboards (flow) however he recently switched deck companies to Foundation, Royal Trucks (flow), Gold wheels + bearings + hardware (flow), Lakai Footwear (flow), and NJ Ams. EmeRiCa2514: called rick (howard) he let me talk to sam smyth and he put me on flow for chocolate, royal, diamond, and lakai
EmeRiCa2514: after i sent my vid to the tap
EmeRiCa2514: which was after i talked to rick but before sam
xx11COLLEGE11xx: so rick told you that you would probably be sponsored?
EmeRiCa2514: he told me to send a vid, then i guess they watched it and liked it
xx11COLLEGE11xx: what were some tricks in your vid?
EmeRiCa2514: i kept it fairly short, just a few things on my box, some stuff from downtown (charlotte), mostly tech/ledge stuff but i have a kickflip over 11 and a nollie flip down 8

xx11COLLEGE11xx: what is it like skating in a town like Charlotte?
EmeRiCa2514: it's okay, but sometimes it'll get sketchy...especially on the west side, i've got a few stories about that place

EmeRiCa2514: well theres this pawn shop with two handicap ramps back to back behind it and then between the two ramps is a door going into the shop...one day i was back there, just me and the filmer at about 10 a.m. flippin stuff off the side of the ramps, and some cracked out dude comes up, losing his hair, and gold fronts and all that and he was raggin me the whole time, then his 'baby's momma' or whatever drives up in some shit car and is cussin him out tellin him to get back to the house or his parole officer is gonna get him

EmeRiCa2514: well, i guess when i first started i didnt even know you could get sponsored, i was just doing it for fun, and i still am, but i'd say my first influences were probably koston, and penny...menikmati influenced me alot
xx11COLLEGE11xx: cool, was that the first video that got you psyched on skating?
EmeRiCa2514: menikmati, i got that one and at the time it was the only one i had, i watched that thing over and over
